The Lizzie McGuire Movie picks up where the Hit Disney Channel New TV Series left off. Hilary Duff is wait on as Lizzie, a handsome and gracious hearted, but totally disquieted teenage girl, preparing to leave Jr. High and disappear on to bigger and better things. The movie focuses on a very special graduation inch that Lizzie and some of her classmates grasp that summer, to Rome, Italy. Hoping this will be her chance to rep adventure instead of terrible luck for a change, Lizzie and her best friend Gordo divulge to grasp chances and have fun, and forget about the embarrassing social order of school and home. Once in Rome, Lizzie’s friend-turned-enemy, Kate, mopes about being ignored by the Italian boys, meanwhile, Lizzie’s aged crush Ethan scopes the chicks, and Gordo repeatedly catches himself scoping Lizzie. But Lizzie is entranced by an Italian pop-star she’s fair met, Paolo, who’s amazed at the likeness Lizzie shares with his old-fashioned singing partner, the dark-haired beauty Isabella. Paolo begs Lizzie to acquire on stage with him at a major awards expose in the guise of the vacationing Isabella, and, remembering her tell to have an adventure, Lizzie agrees to go through with it. Time passes as Lizzie is being prepped for the fraud, and as it does, she finds herself growing closer to Paolo and discovering assertive qualities she didn’t know she had. But as Paolo’s arrangement is rising to fruition, Gordo is having a heck of a time keeping Lizzie’s adventures secret from the group of American travelers and their vicious chaperone/tour guide. Befriend home, Lizzie’s diminutive brother Matt, under the rotten influence of his friend Melina, is working on another notion to slay his sister’s reputation, this time requiring himself and his parents to fade to Rome as well. When the day of Lizzie’s large performance finally arrives, so does Lizzie’s family, not to mention the mysterious pop-star Isabella! It’s anybody’s guess how the mammoth present will turn out, not to mention who will regain the girls in the destroy!

The Lizzie McGuire Movie was a astonishing surprise, even for this staunch Hilary lover and long-time fan of the series. From the clean cute and perfect opening scene, to the fan and crowd pretty feel-good ending, this was a perfect movie for such a mammoth hit TV prove. I must admit, it WAS sparkling odd to examine all the Lizzie McGuire characters on the grand hide, but it was very icy once I got broken-down to it. The graduation scene bothered me a bit, because they felt they had to give an explanation for every major character, making statements the TV display fans already knew, like how Kate obsolete to be Lizzie’s best friend until she became favorite, etc…, but that was the only thing in the whole movie that bugged me. It wouldn’t even have been that dreadful, if not for the device they did it, rushing from one character to another like, “we need to obtain these character explanations out of the blueprint,” mentioning how Lizzie’s other best friend, Miranda, was away in Mexico and things like that. But like I said, that was the only share that bugged me in an otherwise incredibly mammoth movie! As a long-time fan of the present, a couple of parts nearly made me roar, though I’m determined sometimes it was fair the result of seeing my dreamgirl, Hilary Duff, up there looking unbelievable and doing the best acting I’ve ever seen her do! The portion where she gets on stage and does her thing, I was really getting choked up, because after coming to know the character the draw we have from the TV series, it was unbelievable to spy the things Lizzie was doing in this movie as she finally found her confidence! I should also say that Hilary has really improved as a singer, actress, and in everything else she does! She even did a substantial job as Isabella, the Italian pop-star! There were only a couple of times where she lost the accent a bit. But every girl should be able to sight that splendid with both blonde AND brown hair! Ha. I wonder how Hilary would peek as a redhead? I can’t say enough reliable things about this movie! I objective can’t wait till it comes out on DVD. My eyes are even a limited teary good now. Oh, what I would have given to have traded places with Gordo in that movie!

Hillary Duff is going to be a tall star and she is already on the vivid road to a immense future. Not only does she leer cute, but she can act and mutter to. Oh yeah, and she seems incredibly humble and sweet despite all of her success.

Her Disney Channel series “Lizzie McGuire” makes its blueprint to the big-screen in a finale movie that will certainly sit well with young girls. It’s impartial a 90-minute episode of the favorite television note, with some extra money in the budget to shoot on site in Rome. But we can be grateful that it is a nice, wholeome chronicle created for an age group usually neglected by Hollywood.

Duff has a warm, sweet presence and the consume of a microscopic fascinating Lizzie to comment on the action adds a liveliness to her adventures. She is a proficient comedic actress, and clearly doesn’t obtain `Lizzie’ worthy of a stretch. The film mainly serves as the aforementioned goodbye to the present, and another chance to journey Duff as a pop singer, which she is aggressively pursuing in exact life. Now that her point to is over, it will be moving to contemplate what Duff tackles next. Hopefully something more dramatic.

Jim Topple was an queer choice to enlighten. His only other film is the highly bawdy, R rated delighted film “Trick,” but he does a ravishing decent job here, wonderfully capturing Duff’s charming on-screen persona. Sparkling shots of Rome add to the atmosphere and the engrossing soundtrack adds to the fun.

The film is a toothsome, sugary treat from originate to attain. If it isn’t exactly high art, but a fun teen-girl romp that traffics in cute boys, hip outfits, and loads of cheesy (but fun) pop music. Throw in some light morals about friendship, fame, and trust, along with adorable teen crushes, and there’s something to recommend for fun family viewing.

David Shepard gave a sneak preview of these unusual DVDs at the Niles-Essanay Film Museum’s Edison Theater on June 23,2006. I must say that while the last DVD restoration was big, this one keeps that same generous film transfer, but adds more missing footage & title/dialogue cards from newly discovered prints.

ONE AM has the biggest improvement with a total of over 7 minutes of additional footage, I was not able to do a side-by-side comparison but there were scenes I did not remember. I do not want to spoil the comedy surprises of modern footage here, you will have to devour it yourself.

Other shorts such as THE RINK included unique comedy bits and title / dialogue cards that helped the stride & plan of the tale.

The bottom line is that this restoration does not improve on the already sharper represent quality of the previous release, but it does add missing footage not seen in the U.S. since the films’ recent releases.

UPDATE 7/20:

I have now had a chance to do a syncronized side-by-side comparison. While all of the other shorts are restored as mentioned above, adding modern footage to the existing transfer, ONE AM is a totally unique transfer.

My reaction to this current transfer is mixed. The sizable plus is a total of 7 minutes of original material added through out the short! In addition, the used transfer was from a print that was matted on the sides to add a soundtrack, causing a large & thin describe. This original transfer restores the unusual square framed recount, adding to the sides of the record. The negative side to this unusual transfer is that the complete fat frame print is from a negative that is a couple more generations away from the modern camera negative. This is most noticable in the opening (and longer) taxi scene. Relate details in the taxi are lost in the blacks, where the older transfer shows some vehicle details.

In a conversation I had with David, he said that trying to add the novel footage to the existing footage on this title was too jarring, plus the sides of the describe were missing on the broken-down transfer. The decision was made to go with the complete print for the whole transfer. It should be eminent that the bulk of the short that takes station inside the house does not leer dreadful and the benefits of the added record to the sides are a mountainous plus in keeping the novel transfer.

David also stated that he was working on restoring Chaplin’s Keystone comedies! If it is a David Shepard project, it is well worth getting.

Chaplin’s Mutual-two-reelers, which by many are looked upon as the comedian’s noblest work, have been brought out on video and DVD several times, always with variable quality. Some have been well-behaved, others old.

I once heard a proverb which fascinated me, “The biggest enemy to tremendous, is noble.” Well then, CHAPLIN MUTUAL COMEDIES: RESTORED 90TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION is not among the honorable sets; it is the greatest one out there. Not only does it include definite prints of the twelve pearls, all with radiant musical scores serene by Carl Davis — several of the movies, such as ONE A.M. and THE RINK, also have recently discovered footage added, available for the first time since their new release in 1916-17. This makes the collection very well worth to accept even if you have all of the movies from before, like I do.

Oh well, the state would be a treat anyway, because of the special features, which actually could have worked as its hold release. Especially bewitching are two rarely-seen documentaries. The first one of them, THE GENTLEMAN TRAMP (78 min.) from 1975 –which I’d tried to collect for years– is narrated by Laurence Oliver, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, and includes numbers of home movies, archive footage, etc. The second documentary, CHAPLIN’S GOLIATH (54 min.) from 1996 covers the life of Eric Campbell, the heavy Scotsman who played the villain in each one of Chaplin’s Mutual-comedies. Also included are two glorious and very captivating booklets: “The Chaplin Mutuals” by Jeffrey Vance and “The Making of The Gentleman Tramp” by Richard Patterson.

My only complaint is that while the music is very suitable –beautiful, really– and fits the films wonderfully, there are a few times that I contemplate it sounds a tiny too dramatic or melancholic when it, in my thought, rather should be amusing; especially in ONE A.M. But that’s fair according to my taste.

Sadly, there unruffled seems to be distinct footage missing available elsewhere even in this status, especially in THE CURE. However, this is the closest to perfection anyone has advance yet and is, needless to say, a “must” to every Chaplin-fan. Well worth the money!

Davy Crockett is one of Walt Disney’s most endeared and remembered live action characters. He was presented to American audiences by Walt Disney on the Disneyland TV Display in 1954. He was personified by Fess Parker beloved ever after by his steady portrayal. This shimmering and animated character was first seen in three episodes from the TV expose (”Davy Crockett, Indian Fighter,” “Davy Crockett Goes to Congress” and “Davy Crockett at the Alamo”) . Parker, with his coonskin cap and homespun issue and witticism created a nationwide phenomenon in 1954. Who can forget “The Ballad Of Davy Crockett” unruffled by George Bruns and Tom Blackburn. Buddy Ebsen played his sidekick George Russel, whose adventures remove them from Tennessee to Washington, D.C. to the Alamo in the first three episodes. The series’ third episode focusing on the defense of the Alamo, though well remembered, is somewhat labored until we perceive the final image of Davy Crockett passing into record and glory. This straightforward and beautifully photographed series expounds the virtues of honesty, integrity and bravery. The country could not win enough of Davy so he and George Russel returned in 1955 for two more episodes (”Davy Crockett’s Keel Boat Hasten” and “Davy Crockett and the River Pirates”) . For Davy Crockett’s second season on television the display was retitled “The Legends of Davy Crockett.” The significant title change came about because we had seen Davy near to his slay defending the Alamo and Walt Disney wanted to continue bringing us his adventures. “Davy Crockett’s Keel Boat Hasten” is about a riverboat speed between Davy and another American folklore hero Mike Fink. “Davy Crockett and the River Pirates” is about Davy’s attempt to end an Indian uprising with Mike Fink’s assistance. In some ways these two episodes are the best. Davy Crockett appears less the frontier fighter and more the good-natured peacemaker in these episodes. The riverboat hasten with Mike Fink is very provocative and a high point in Disney’s American frontier live action adventures. I don’t even assume John Ford could have filmed this sequence any better. Kenneth Tobey, who worked with John Ford, is obedient in a broad comedic share (Fess Parker made label of Tobey’s performance in a supplemental interview on the DVD) . Walt Disney gave this actor a chance to show his gigantic versatility and range as an actor. Also, Mike Fink’s boats may ogle a cramped familiar since they are the basis for the riverboat bolt at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. That’s a nice nostalgic tie in! Bert Glennon’s cinematography is beautifully picturesque as ever and is matched seamlessly with some very effective glass shot special effects by Peter Ellenshaw. This is one of the best DVDs to advance from the Disney vaults. Walt Disney introduces each of the five episodes exactly as they were originally presented on the Disneyland TV Reveal. The Supplemental Features on this DVD are above and beyond what I had expected. Most of Disney’s DVD extras seem to concentrate on the technical aspects of the feature presentation. This DVD focused more on the phenomenon that the fable of Davy Crockett created and the affect it had and continues to have on those who were brought up in those times. There are two exceptional Features: “A Conversation with Fess Parker” and “The Davy Crockett Craze.” “The Gallery” of photos and memorabilia is also grand. “A Conversation with Fess Parker” really hit home with me. Fess Parker appeared to be the reliable article that he was. In a world of eroded morals filled with dirt and filth everywhere you turn it was more than comforting to hear Fess Parker’s fond recollections of his portrayal and the ideals that Walt immortalized through the tales of this legendary character. If your eyes feel a small watery its because your remembering a time not so long ago when our heroes were trusty heroes. This is one of the best and should relieve preserve the record alive for those that lived it, those that loved it and for those that will someday be touched by it.

I have a confession to get. Even with as gigantic a Disney fan as I am, I had never seen any of the Davy Crockett movies before this came out. I’d seen pictures and heard stories of the Crockett craze, but had no belief what these movies were really all about.

This dwelling of DVD’s contains all five of the Davy Crockett episodes from the TV exhibit Disneyland as they originally aired. This includes the opening explain animation, Walt’s intros and outros, and promos for next week’s episode. They are presented here unedited and in their new order. Leonard Maltin introduces each episode and hosts the interviews on the second disc. Of those, the one about the Davy Crockett craze is ok, but hearing Fess Parker’s memories is racy, especially to a Disney fan like me. The describe and sound quality is enormous for something from the 50’s, although I did observe that the report does go to shadowy and white once per episode.

Watching these for the first time over the weekend, I was captivated by the movies. The scenery is exquisite and the acting is capable. There are a couple spots where a couple stories seem to sprint, but they never last long. My favorites are the two on the second disc, particularly the keel boat run. Unexcited, I idea to rewatch all the episodes on these DVDs many more times.

Believe it or not, Whirlpool (1949) is my very first Otto Preminger film, probably because I use a vast deal of time rummaging around in the cinematic `bargain bin’, meaning many of the movies I leer (almost exclusively on DVD) tend not to be of the highest caliber…that’s not to say I don’t relish improbable films like this, but I may not review them as often as I should…anyway, based on a original by Guy Endore titled “Methinks The Lady”, and directed by Otto Preminger (Laura, The Man with the Golden Arm, Porgy and Bess), the film stars the very delicate Gene Tierney (Laura, Leave Her to Heaven, The Razor’s Edge), Richard Conte (Call Northside 777, The Blue Gardenia, Ocean’s Eleven), and José Ferrer (Cyrano de Bergerac, Moulin Rouge), whom I’m thankful to glance in a decent, if not pleasurable role, given the last two films I saw him in, Dracula’s Dog (1978) and Bloody Birthday (1981), were hardly vehicles that showcased his correct talents, but I inform in Hollywood, to own a sense of longevity in terms of an acting career, you retract what you can obtain…also appearing is Charles Bickford (Brute Force, A Star Is Born) and Barbara O’Neil (Gone with the Wind, I Remember Mama) .

As the film begins we seek an ravishing woman (Tierney) leaving a department store (stores have valet parking? I gotta score out more…), soon to be accosted by the store detective, as she’s caught stealing an expensive trinket. As she’s hauled succor in, protesting all the contrivance, a man named David Korvo (Ferrer) recognizes the woman, and comes to her aide. Turns out she’s Ann Sutton, wife to a prominent and affluent psychoanalyst named Dr. William Sutton (Conte) . The management, seeing the possibility of negative publicity for the store, releases Ann (must be nice…if this happened to me I’d probably be enjoying the comforts of a 6 by 9 concrete room with fleshy man named Bubba), but thus begins her relationship with Korvo, an oily, opportunistic, highly shining and perceptive con artist who passes himself off as a doctor of sort, his specialty being astrology and hypnosis. Given this original event, you’d believe it a prime opportunity for blackmail, but Korvo expresses interest in helping Ann with her issues, which include a persistent case of insomnia. Ann secretly takes Korvo up on his offer mainly due to the fact her husband doesn’t know about her condition, as she’s stunned of the adverse effects her problems may have on her husband’s career (and their marriage) if word ever got out, but Korvo’s machinations indicate a slippery slope marked with lies, deceit, and even slay.

There were two stand out performances here for me, that of Gene Tierney, sporting a very short hairdo (she looks so mighty better with it long), and José Ferrer, whose credentials I began to request lately due to some of his later choices in film roles. Tierney does a gargantuan job filling out her character, one corpulent of emotion, passion, scare, care for, and confusion. She’s a strong, lovely, and smart woman, struggling with her supposed role in life, specifically the perceptions of what she’s supposed to be, and what she would like to be…the psychological conflict is purposely buried, but ends up manifesting itself in uncommon behavior. Ferrer’s character, picks up on this enough so to work himself around it, insinuating himself into Ann’s life, and setting in motion a carefully crafted, highly devious thought designed to misdirect, confuse, and obfuscate the truth. Oh how I hated him (his character, that is) …he was so manipulative, smug and pretentious…and greasy…oh, not physically, but on the inside. Some of my current lines in the film occur at the afternoon society party thrown for Korvo, as he makes various cloaked, verbal jabs at his host…was she deserving? Probably so, but once you regain a stout realization of from who the remarks are coming from, it tends to feel great like the pot calling the kettle dim, except for the fact the kettle is really only gray and the pot is completely charred. Does that earn sense? Probably not…the really spellbinding thing about this movie is I doubt any of the characters here are people I’d want to utilize time with…a thief who has clandestine meetings with another man and keeps past indiscretions from her spouse, her knuckleheaded husband who sees his wife as more of a trophy rather than an individual, despite clear signs the role is not a beneficial fit for her, and a top notch con man willing to do anything to protect himself from effort. As far as the rest of the performances, some were reliable, albeit familiar (Bickford), while others seemed acceptable (Conte) . As bright as Conte’s character was supposed to be, he seemed always a few steps (at least) tedious what was actually going on…I guess the trouble I had here was not with the performer, but more so the character, as he presented these perfectly simplistic notions with regards to his relationship with his wife (along with some associated lines of dialog), unable to sense the turmoil developing within, especially given his profession. Was it a case of not seeing the forest for the trees? No, it was more like not seeing the forest or the trees…I found it hard to take off that Conte’s character could be as renowned and respected as he was within his profession, yet so dense when it came to his fill wife. Despite this gripe, the overall tale is solid, enthralling and filmed immaculately well, and the dialog strong and supportive and in tune of the differing characters and the performers playing them. The narrative does feature some fantastical elements to be positive, but there’s a level of complexity within the material that can actually serve the burden, and manufacture a sense of plausibility, for myself, at least…

The portray on this DVD, presented in the current aspect ration (1.33:1), looks exceptionally natty and involving, and the audio comes through pleasant, available in both Dolby Digital stereo and Dolby Digital mono. Special features include a commentary track with film critic Richard Schickel, a theatrical trailer, and trailers for other Fox noir DVD releases like Call Northside 777 (1948), The Gloomy Corner (1946), House of Bamboo (1955), Laura (1944), Nightmare Alley (), Awe in the Streets (1947), and The Street with No Name (1948) .

Cookieman108

This film and its DVD treatment are fine. There’s nothing left to say that hasn’t already been said in astronomical detail by other reviewers but as a classic film fanatic and a film noir junkie I cannot recommend this title enough. If you’ve seen and enjoyed ‘Laura’ and or ‘Where the Sidewalk Ends’, both also starring the breath-taking Gene Tierney and directed by Otto Preminger, have no hesitation in securing this DVD for your collection. The sign is at least half what it’s worth!

The ubiquitous Seth Rogen stars in yet another comedy, which is pretty with me. Unlike a lot of comedies, this one actually delivers laughs. It’s not hysterically droll, and there was less comedy than I would like. But, at least there were some humorous bits. “Pineapple Recount” suffers the same flaw as most comedies, in that it’s too long. (I didn’t stare the longer director’s cleave version, opting instead for the theatrical version.) 90 minutes is the magic number for a comedy; you had better have a agreeable excuse for going over. This film did not. Chopping about 20 minutes out of this would have improved it immensely.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Pineapple Express! Click Here

Seth Rogen plays himself, as always, and he’s ample at it. James Franco was astounding, and his Golden Globe nomination was well-deserved. Ed Begley, Jr. got to play a character out of his normal range, and was really the comedic star of this film in the few scenes he was in.

As my wife perceptively distinguished, we were not the target demographic for this movie. I suspect a younger group would luxuriate in it more. Nonetheless, it’s a least worth a rent, particularly if you don’t go into it with high expectations.

I deem some reviewer’s miss the point. The writer, director, etc. did everything with this movie that they intented to. They wanted to produce a amusing movie obviously, but they also wanted to do a point. Seth Rogen’s character say’s it best when Franco’s character is offering him a hit and he doesn’t want it, that they are not very functional when they are high and that’s why they have got into so great anxiety. The movie is silly, so amusing I actually made myself sick to my stomach from laughing so hard.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Pineapple Express! Click Here

James Franco has played his best fragment ever in my concept, the sweet, sometimes a petite clueless Saul. Then, sometimes he pulls it all together and you inspect a flash of the person through the haze of smoke. Endearing to the last line with a gigantic smile. You judge he has no plan of what Seth Rogen’s character think’s about him and then at one point he pull’s out a list of everything Seth’s character has said and not said, proving he’s smarter than he appear’s.

Seth Rogen stands out here as well, helped along by big lines and satiric wit. Don’t even come by me started on Red. He’s like a cockroach, he can’t be killed.

My current scene would have to be when they are in the wood’s and freaking out over the forest creature’s they mediate are waiting to obtain them. It was so hilarious I cried from laughing. But, I won’t spoil it.

Best comedy I’ve seen in years. Recommended.

WOW…I won’t go into any more detail than the previous reviewers did, as they have summed up my feelings too on this worthy, underappreciated and underrated movie. Oscars should have gone to director Taylor Hackford, the cinematographer, Danny Elfman’s haunting salvage, and the acting, oh my. Of course, Kathy Bates is overwhelming; Jennifer Jason Leigh has never been better; Christopher Plummer certainly sheds his “Sound of Music” persona; Judy Parfit is unbelievably effective as bitchy Vera, but her portrayal is so dimensional that we advance to care for her; Ms. Parfit’s scene with the pig musicbox playing “Pleased Days Are Here Again” is bright. Also great is Ellen Muth, who plays the young Selena, and John Reilly as the sheriff, who stands up to Plummer’s site detective. Of course, one can’t overlook David Straitharn as Dolores’ cruel and abusive husband. His performance is so convincing that I don’t deem I’ll like him in anything! My only regret is I didn’t contemplate this one earlier. Can we go assist and do the 1995 Oscars over??

I loved this movie!!!! Stephen King should nasty this and “The Green Mile” as his crowning adapted movies!

Nothing in the title of the film, or the premise, allows the watcher to be prepared for the virtual punch his powerhouse movie gives us. Led by much-deserving Oscar winner Kathy Bates and a glum and morose Jennifer Jason Leigh, the cast brings to life several characters trapped in a chronicle of denial, repression, and ultimately, the strength that women must have to endure life.

This film has been overlooked by many people, including myself, for many reasons. Kathy Bates in another Stephen King epic seemed to repetitive from her extraordinary performance in “Misery”. But elegant warning, she is not Nurse Annie here, but a completely improbable and hard woman who deals with the trauma in her life head on. I also didn’t enjoy the magical artistry of this film until buying the DVD and listening to Taylor Hackford give his wordy and smart commentary to the film.

First, the presentation of these four movies by Blue-Underground is agreeable. All widescreen format, extraordinary color, and only a limited bit of age showing though any of them. Not a dilemma. If you’re a Christopher Lee fan, these movies are a complete joy. And for those of you who be pleased Leo Genn, you’ve got to check out “Circus of Horror”. Leo Genn gives a amazing performance as an incredibly humble, compassionate police detective, who genuinely cares about people. But…

That brings me to the “terrible disk” comment. Apparently there are problems with this first disk. I have two dvd players, and in the G.E. stamp player, it kept spitting the disk help out and displaying “unplayable disk” on the digital readout. I finally got it to play by hitting the play button two or three times while it was reading the disk. But, further problems ocurred; skipping again and again, finally freeze ups. I was upset, to say the least.

Then I tried it on the other player, a Panasonic DVD-RV20, and it played flawlessly. I don’t know why there would be such an increadible differance between the players. However, I know others are having the same anxiety with their players. So beware. Blue-Underground has issued a statement that they occupy something happened during the manufacturing of the disk, and are considering how they can replace the disk in the very approach future. I hope so, because this is a stout box-set, and I own any Lee fan would give a lot to beget it.

When I was very young, I was only allowed to examine determined panic movies- mainly Vincent Note vehicles (especially the ones based on Poe’s work) and Christopher Lee’s Hammer films. So for most of my life I had a titanic admiration for this deep voiced, dignified actor. This status contains movies from his 70’s B-picture work, but the quality is astounding.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Christopher Lee Collection – Limited Edition! Click Here

“Circus of Dread” is a fun itsy-bitsy represent, and Lee raises it above your usual schlocky circus setting movie. There are also many silly moments scattered throughout. The Fu Manchu movies are a lot of fun- Lee plays the fraction perfectly and the makeup is astounding. About the only really “offensive” describe on this is The Bloody Consider, and not that worthy. Jess Franco and Lee seemed to be a spacious team on these latter pictures, even if at times they disagreed.

Technically, Blue Underground completely gave these releases the red carpet. The transfers are approach perfect- all are in widescreen, there is very tiny grain, colors are unprejudiced the legal tone and they all gawk top-notch. The sound is also very well done, I heard no pops or crackles and there are no sound travel outs. The box is very delicate, and the covers are very nice (the inserts fill the novel poster art.) Extras are a bit sparse- mainly commentaries and interviews- but they are well done, engaging and informative.

This is a tall treat for Lee fans, especially fans of his earlier genre work. However, if you’re looking for a group of scary pictures, you should survey elsewhere. If you only know him from Star Wars: AoTC or the Lord of the Rings movies you may be dissapointed, but it’s serene worth a perceive to search for some of what made him such a memoir. This plot is a must! Hopefully we’ll glance Blue Underground release more Christopher Lee pictures in the future.

My 9 month primitive loves this video. We had Mozart, Beethoven and Santa (DO NOT hold) already. This one is a lot different because there is actually consuming footage of the animals with gargantuan music. He is too young to come by into the animal naming parts, so he gets bored then, but whenever the puppets or the music reach on he is mesmerized. The DVD says its for older children, so maybe naming the animals won’t be as monotonous for him in a few months. I like watching it with him. I’d give the DVD 5 stars, but Disney is completely shameless in placing ads at the beginning and destroy of the DVD during the first play. I express not to occupy another with this sort of advertising no matter how grand they say it is.

My son owns all the Einstein DVD’s and this is one of the top 5. I like the format, which looks like a board book, take and flap style. It also introduces different animals besides the usual farm animals or “everyday” animals like cats and dogs. I would give this 5 stars but Disney has tied in some shameless plugs at the destroy of the DVD for their Animal Kingdom in WDW. Sustain the ads to the bonus features or previews.

“The Lickerish Quartet” is what I always opinion pornography should be, but never is. There is enough sex in the movie, but it’s all very real-seeming, without being extreme (no close-up entry shots, etc.) The settings are evocative and stylish, the yarn line is OK, and the individual scenes (even besides the sex) are extremely appealing and racy. Question some subtle eroticism, and a lot of not-so-subtle.

“The Lickerish Quartet” is a shiny example of alternative 1970’s film making. In a time when adult films had to be classified as “art-films” to avoid censorship, writers and directors were forced to set a lot of exertion into dwelling, dialog, and storyline. The slay result sometimes worked better than others and here we notice unprejudiced how imaginitive a…. film can be. Splendid cinematography, grandiose setting, and a determined “twighlight-zone” twist, build this film anything but stupid. What makes it shine is the diagram it reflects the … vision of 1970. The sex is free and easy, though carefully handled and practically “R” rated. If you like seduction, passion, and lovers running through the grass, this is the film for you. There’s plenty of porn around, but this is something else. The motorcycle stunt scene is worth the mark of the film alone. Director Radley Metzger has secured a site in film history.
